Summary: Volcanologist, David Cook, was sent to investigate a series of seismic activities in the town of Murray in Utah and found that he had more than an awakening dormant volcano to deal with when he met David Archuleta.

Author's Notes:
- This isn't the fic I originally started writing as second entry for the au_bigbang. I was supposed to use the Cookleta-Belami crossover, but that fic is turning out to be too long and the plot keeps changing so I thought I'd start a new one and write a movie-based fic instead. So I ended up with this.

- This fic is based on the movie 'Dante's Peak'. Majority of the scenes were inspired by the movie. Also, there may be dialogues from the movie that I ended up using, but that wasn't intentional. This was written in a span of 10 days so chances are I have been unconsciously writing from memory of what I've watched.

- Thank you so much to pixie_queen24 for doing the beta at such short notice, despite her very busy schedule. Please note that the last 2 parts were not beta'ed because RL caught up with her. But I decided to post anyway so I have 1 less fic out of the way. Any remaining mistakes on the first three parts are all mine. And thank you to my dear friend radcliffe_bass for holding my hand throughout this project. Even though she thinks I'm crazy for starting on a new fic barely 2 weeks before I'm scheduled to post.

- There are several things I have invented to make the story work somehow. So please note that Fuller's Peak, Mount Cimehtna (if read backwards, it's 'Anthemic'), Archuleta's Bed and Breakfast Inn among others do not exist. At least to my knowledge. And I have no idea if there's a volcanic and seismic research facility in L.A. You will also noticed that I used the acronym S.E.A.C.R.E.S.T. for a robot, but I cannot come up with a meaning. It will be interesting if you, readers, can suggest what it may possibly stand for.

- This fic is dedicated to everyone in my f-list and those who had been reading my fics. You guys know who you are and I love you all.

I... Fail.

I'm so, so sorry for not getting the beta finished last night. I didn't get home until late and all this OT at work is killing me! I started to work on it, but fell asleep. I got a text from you this morning when I was on my way to work (from AIM) and nearly flipped out!

awww... it's ok bb. i can make the changes whenever you can get the last 2 parts done. i just needed to get this out of the way so i can focus on helping my friend with her entry. the toughest part is coding 'cause i do it manually. lj does weird things whenever i post.

thanks so much for the help. and please get some rest. doing OT is not an easy task, it's totally exhausting.

i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong but i recently realized i forgot to read this and was gonna open it to remind myself to remedy that but all the links are telling me access is denied....and it seems all ur old fics are doing that but i know i've gone back and read them in the past....am i missing something?....
now of course i'm kicking myself in the butt for not having read this when it was posted.... :)
