Warning: Minor character death. And I'd warn for gore but then it's not graphic so there's no need, unless the idea of ghouls eating human flesh is a trigger for you, so consider that a fair warning.
Summary: Something happened to Makoto, something unimaginable that eventually became a nightmare not just for him but for his friends Haru and Rin as well.

- This fic features Free! characters in Tokyo Ghoul setting. If you're not familiar with Tokyo Ghoul, I suggest you Google it to have an idea so you'll know what to expect.
- If you're a big fan of Makoto, you might not want to read this because you wouldn't like how I wrote him here. I practically turned him to Kaneki Ken, except not exactly. I may have followed the concept of Tokyo Ghoul, but I didn't follow the plot religiously.
- Though the pairing is Rin/Haru or Haru/Rin, this story isn't focused on their relationship so don't expect any romantic scenes between them. It is, however, clearly emphasized that they're in a relationship.
- Since this was set in another fandom's setting, then this may be considered Alternate Universe/ AU
- This isn't beta-read or edited yet. I will make corrections later.

Summary: Harry's world is shaken when he meets one of the last winged human-like creatures known as Aves Keburis or Falkryd, unmindful that the creature is a prince and has chosen Harry to be his human companion.

Author's Note(s):
- First, beware that this is a creature!fic. I haven't read enough Harry Potter fanfiction so I'm not sure if the idea of any character being a 'bird-man' has been used.
- Second, this is worldbuilding. The places mentioned here do not (or at least I hope they don't) exist. I simply invented them.
- This isn't entirely britpicked though you may notice my failed attempts of turning this fic into one. I figured since it's worldbuilding, I can use any language/ accent and pretend it's the one that exists in this universe.
- The concept of this fic was inspired by this video, silly as it may sound.

A/N: I think an explanation is in order.
1) These are the canon historical event(s) changed in this story:
- Nick Armstrong didn't die and was never possessed by a demon
- The parents of the circle's members didn't die in a fire and are still alive
- Jake Armstrong never left Chance Harbor
2) Since Catherine Conant is still alive, I figured Adam and his father would be living in a real house rather than the yacht/ boat/ whatever.
3) Aaaaand… since Sara and Richard Armstrong are still alive, I am guessing Nick and Jake didn't grow up being bitter and misguided.

The title of this story comes from the lyrics of the song, 'Avalanche' by David Cook. The plot is inspired by this video.
