- I've been nursing this idea in my head for a year now and decided to finally write it. This is my entry for rpf_big_bang 2011.

- A big thanks to my friends, Sheng and Ian (they don't have LJ), who both have been patient enough to answer my endless questions about the realistic and probable effects of the different ways to kill one's self (they thought I was suicidal at some point, LOL) from a nurse's perspective.

- I won't claim that I came up with this idea on my own. THIS MASTERPIECE by shukyou greatly inspires the concept of this story and the artwork and some of the scene ideas.

- I did extensive research on major depression and suicidal tendencies, even took down clinical terms, but then I realized that I was writing through a particular character's POV and the character has no medical or psych knowledge whatsoever, so I decided to write the story in a way the character would possibly narrate it. Some scenes may be off or unrealistic if seen through the eyes of someone with knowledge about psychological treatment. Again, the narration is based on the character's (the patient) view.

- Ryder Oak is a fictional mental health rehabilitation center that I created. If this exists in real life, that is just mainly a coincidence and it means I suck big time at doing research.
